Team and roles

Invite teammates to your ReplayQA workspace, choose the right role for each person, and change or remove members.

ReplayQA works best when the people who know the flows can record them and the people who ship can run them. Roles keep each person to what they need.

Invite someone

  1. Open Team in the sidebar.
  2. Under Invite a teammate, enter their email and choose a role.
  3. Press Send invitation.

They get an email with a link that expires after 7 days. If email isn't set up on your server, you get a one-time link to share with them yourself. Pending invitations are listed on the Team page, where you can Revoke them.

Each member uses a seat on your plan. When all seats are in use, the invite form is replaced by a message; remove a member or add seats under Billing & usage.

Roles

Role Can do
Viewer See tests, runs and results. Read-only.
Developer Everything a Viewer can, plus upload videos and run tests.
QA Engineer Everything a Developer can, plus edit, validate and approve tests, and manage suites.
Admin Everything a QA Engineer can, plus manage members, projects, sites, test logins and workspace settings.
Owner Everything, including billing and deleting the workspace.

Tips for choosing:

  • Give developers the Developer role. They can run tests and upload a video when they find a bug, without changing approved tests.
  • Give the people responsible for test quality QA Engineer, since approving tests is their call.
  • Keep Admin and Owner to a few people. They can see and change site credentials.

Change a role or remove someone

On Team, change a member's role with the dropdown next to their name, or press Remove. You can only assign roles below your own (Owners can make Admins). To leave a workspace yourself, press Leave.

Several workspaces

People can belong to several workspaces with a different role in each, for example an agency working with several clients. They switch between them at the top of the sidebar.
