Troubleshooting

Fixes for common ReplayQA problems, including failed video analysis, steps that can't find an element, runs stuck in the queue, sign-in issues and paused tests.

Find your symptom below. Each answer links to the page with more detail.

My video's analysis failed

Open the recording from Recordings to see why. Common causes:

  • The file isn't MP4 or WebM, or is too large or long for your plan. Convert or trim it and upload again.
  • The video doesn't show a flow clearly, for example because it's very short, blurry or mostly scrolling. Re-record following How to record a good video.
  • Your AI recordings allowance is used up. See Plans, usage and limits.

Validation stopped at a step

Press See where it stopped to compare the screenshot with the video, then Fix steps. Typical fixes:

  • The target text was misread: correct it to the exact words on screen.
  • The site changed since the recording: update the step, or record the flow again.
  • A pop-up or cookie banner appeared that wasn't in the video: add a click to close it.

See From video to validated test.

"This video starts on a page that needs you to be signed in"

The video began on a signed-in page, so the test browser, which starts signed out, can't see it. Record a short sign-in video and choose it as the site's sign-in test. See Signing in before every test.

A run stays "Queued"

Runs start as soon as a test runner is free:

  • Your plan's concurrent runs are all in use. Other runs are ahead of it, and it starts when one finishes.
  • "No test runner is online, so this run is waiting." The service that runs browsers is unavailable. The run starts automatically when it's back. If this lasts more than a few minutes, contact support.

The page looks broken only in test runs

Missing styles, images or a login button that does nothing usually means a domain the page needs is blocked. Add it to the site's Additional allowed hosts. See Site settings.

A test passes sometimes and fails sometimes

It's flaky. See Flaky tests for the common causes and fixes.

I can't press Play, or a test says "Paused · over plan"

  • The test is a draft. Validate it first; only approved tests can be played.
  • Your role can't run tests. Viewers are read-only. See Team and roles.
  • Your workspace is over its saved-test limit. Archive tests you don't need, or upgrade.
  • The plan has ended. A banner at the top of every page says so. An Owner needs to choose a plan.

I can't upload a video

The upload page shows a lock when you've reached your plan's saved-test limit, the plan has ended, or the free trial's one video has been used. Archive tests or upgrade. See Plans, usage and limits.

My test ran on the wrong website

Check the site chosen next to Play (or the suite's Default environment). When uploading a video of a different website, enter its address in Page the video starts on so ReplayQA files it under the right project. See Uploading a video.

A date step fails

The date in the test may now be in the past and disabled by the form. Edit the step and choose a date further in the future. See Dates, dropdowns and popups.
